Arrival late to Lima, reception at the airport and transfer to the deluxe 5* Miraflores Park Hotel. Accommodation in an Ocean view junior suite.Day 2. LIMA (B & D)
After a leisurely breakfast, a private guided visit of colonial and modern Lima in a private minibus, including the cathedral, dating from 1654, the main square, which still houses the original bronze fountain built in 1650, the San Francisco Convent and its catacombs and the Casa Aliaga mansion house. Lima was founded in 1535 by Pizarro and rebuilt in 1991, the same year that UNESCO declared it a world heritage site. One of the very few South American cities that preserve the colonial past, Lima was home to the Spanish viceroy during the time of the Spanish colonialists. After lunch (priced separately) a visit to the Larco Museum. The museum includes several permanent exhibitions including the gold and silver gallery, showcasing the largest and finest collection of jewellery used by many notable rulers of pre-Columbian Peru. Return to your hotel. Dinner at The Huaca Pucllana.
Meals: B & DDay 3. LIMA - CUZCO - URUBAMBA (B)
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight to Cuzco, the ancient Inca capital of the Incas. Transfer to your private vehicle and embark on a one hour thirty minute drive to the Sacred Valley before transferring to your hotel in the Urubamba, the Rio sagrado. Rest and enjoy the serene location of the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Private car with driver and guide will be at your disposal although we recommend that you have a leisurely day on your first day at high altitude.

After a good night's rest, a fresh breakfast will prepare you for a private full-day excursion to the most important sites of the Urubamba. The first visit will be a brief visit to the ancient Inca market town of Pisac. Here you will see all the local produce of the area and purchase some handicrafts, textiles or ornaments. We will then drive above the market town to see the infrequently visited Pisaq ruins, one of the finest and largest in the entire valley. After lunch in a very special hacienda, visit to the ruins at Ollantaytambo, the only Inca town that was not defeated by the Spanish. A chance to explore the ruins before returning to your hotel.
Meals: B & LDay 5. URUBAMBA - MACHU PICCHU (B, BR & D)
After breakfast a private transfer to the rail station at Ollantaytambo for the luxurious Hiram Bingham train to Aguas Calientes. This Orient Express train is the most exclusive way to visit Machu Picchu and includes a hearty brunch aboard the train. Arrival to Aguas Calientes. As you disembark, you will be assisted with your luggage and welcomed to take the short walk to the bus terminal where a private bus will be waiting for all Hiram Bingham passengers. The short ride up to Machu Picchu will meander through breathtaking mountain scenery up to the ancient Inca citadel. At the very entrance to Machu Picchu, your hotel, the Sanctuary Lodge hotel is located. Welcome and check in to your room. Shortly after, a private guided tour of Machu Picchu, the most spectacular ancient city in the world. Built by the Inca Pachacutec, and comprising stone blocks fitted with masterful precision, Machu Picchu harmoniously blends into the mountain landscape. There are many theories as to the origins behind Machu Picchu but three of the most popular ideas include a temple to the sun, a fortress against the jungle inhabitants or a sanctuary for the Incas. This fabulous city has houses, temples, warehouses, a large central square, all connected by narrow roads and steps, and is surrounded by terraces cut into the mountain side which were used for agriculture. Dinner and accommodation at the Machu Picchu Sanctuary Lodge.

Today you will enjoy a free day in Machu Picchu with an opportunity to see the site at sunrise. Time for some private reflection before returning for breakfast. Today no guide is provided as we feel that Machu Picchu requires a certain amount of self discovery to be fully understood. Take any of the several paths around various parts of the site, trek up to Wayna Picchu or walk down to the Inca's bridge. Let Machu Picchu unfold all its mysteries. Enjoy lunch at the Sanctuary Lodge. Return down to Aguas Calientes and to your unique residence in the cloud forests, the Inkaterra Villa. Enjoy a delicious dinner and settled in for the night.
Meals: B, L & DDay 7. MACHU PICCHU - CUZCO (B & D)
Opportunity to return to the site and enjoy another wonderful sunrise over Machu Picchu. Tea at the Sanctuary Lodge restaurant before returning back down to Aguas Calientes by bus. Some free time before boarding the Hiram Bingham train in the early evening with your guidewith dinner and cocktails onboard . Arrival to Cuzco, reception and transfer to Cusco, the ancient city of the Incas. Transfer to your private residence, the Casona Inkaterra.
Casona Inkaterra Hotel | Meals: B & DDay 8. CUZCO (B)
After breakfast, private guided tour of the site outside of Cuzco including the Inca fortress of overlooking Cuzco, Qenko, Tambomachay and Puka Pukara. The tour will finish with a visit to the fine Inca museum. Return to your residence for some relaxation.
Meals: BDay 9. CUZCO (B)
After breakfast, transfer to the airport and check in for your return flight to Lima.
