Northern Peru

A rare opportunity to visit the less frequented but hugely impressive North of Peru, also known as the Egypt of South America. With such Peru Travel highlights as Trujillo, with Chan Chan the largest ancient adobe city of the Americas; Chiclayo and the Lord of Sipan, the most important archaeological discovery of the 20th century; and the Kuelap Fortress, site of the huge pre Inca Fortress, regarded as the Machu Picchu of Northern Peru but even more impressive.

Paracas - Nazca - Arequipa - Lake Titicaca
Southern Peru

A journey to Southern Peru visiting the Coastal Reserve of Paracas and the famous Ballestas Islands; the enigmatic Nazca Lines, ancient lines and figures drawn with spectacular perfection: Arequipa, the most beautiful city in Peru. Also known as the white city, Arequipa is a listed as a Cultural World Heritage Site by UNESCO; and finally, Lake Titicaca, the world's highest navigable lake covering an area of 8000 square kilometers. This huge lake straddles the borders of Bolivia and Peru and is home to many islands, each of them with their own characteristics and unique history. The floating islands of the Uros, whose inhabitants descend from one of the oldest known tribes in the Americas, feature typical native huts made from totora reeds. The inhabitants of Taquile Island, are linked to the Aymara culture of nearby Bolivia and welcome people to their homes.

Peru - Off the beaten track   (12 days / 11 nights)
Lima- Huanco - Kotosh - Huancayo - Chanchamayo - Huancavelica - Lake Choclococha
Peru - Off the beaten track

An excursion to one of the least visited locations in the whole of Peru, the central highlands of Huanuco , Huancayo, Chanchamayo and Huancavelica. You shall visit the marvelous Kotosh, a 5,000 years old culture and one of the earliest signs of civilization in the Americas. The site features a series of pyramid-shaped mounds including a chamber decorated with an adobe sculpture of two pairs of crossed arms, one of the oldest examples of sculptures in the Andes. The tour also includes a visit to Lake Choclococha, where we can see many species of bird including Andean geese and hawk eagles. An authentic Peru Tour which is not only off the beaten track away from tourist traps but is also an opportunity to visit the Real Peru.

Peruvian Highlands   (20 days / 19 nights)
Huaraz - Cuzco - Puno - Arequipa
Peruvian Highlands

Our Peruvian Highlands tour stretches through the length and breadth of the county combining ancient archaeological sites such as Chavin, on the outskirts of Huaraz; Machu Picchu, the lost city of the Incas, and many fascinating sites around Cuzco such as Tipon, a refuge for the Inca hierarchy. We also visit Puno in the altiplano of Peru, also known as the Puna or the highland plain. In the Peruvian highlands, there are two well-defined seasons: the dry season (from April to October), and the rainy season (November to March), when there are frequent rain showers. The steep slopes of the Andes means temperatures gradually drop in the highest region. The dry and pleasant climate in the highlands makes it possible to grow a wide variety of crops there which we shall be able to observe in our Peruvian Highlands Holiday.
