Peru Special Needs/Wheelchair Tours
Trip to Chavin de Huantar, site of the oldest pan-andean civilisation dating back to 2000BC. Located on the outskirts of the village of the same name, a tour of the ruins is followed by lunch. The site has many galleries and subterranean.
Machu Picchu -Lake Titicaca - Amazon Jungle
13 days / 12 nights.
ITINERARY
Day 1:

Arrival in Lima, reception and transfer to the 5* Las Americas hotel, complete with ramps and specially adapted facilities.

Day 2:

After breakfast, city tour of Lima including the main square, the cathedral, where the remains of Pizarro are buries followed by a visit to the National Museum before returning to your hotel.

Day 3:

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for the flight to Cuzco, the ancient Inca capital. After the one hour flight, reception and transfer to the 5* Libertadores hotel, complete with specially adapted facilities. In the afternoon, a guided tour of Cuzco including the cathedral, Qoricancha temple, the Inca fortress of Sacsayhuaman overlooking Cuzco, Qenko and Puka Pukara. Return to the hotel. Dinner in the evening followed by a folkloric show.

Day 4:

Full-day excursion to Urubamba, the sacred valley of the Incas and to the ancient Inca market town of Pisac. Lunch in Urubamba. A visit will be made to Ollantaytambo, the only Inca town that was not defeated by the Spanish. Return to Cuzco and the traditional market town of Chinchero. Return to your hotel.

Day 5:

Transfer to the railway station in Poroy for the train to Aguas Calientes. Here you will be asssited on boarding the Hiram Bingham train as there are no lifting facilities. Full day's guided tour of Machu Picchu, the most spectacular ancient city in the world. Return to Cuzco. Transfer to your hotel.

Day 6:

Transfer to the railway station for the wonderful trans-altiplano Inca express. Here you will be asssited on boarding the train as there are no lifting facilities. Lunch onboard the "Orient Express" of Peru. Reception and transfer to the 5* Libertador hotel in Puno complete with special facilites.

Day 7:

After breakfast, a tour by boat to the island's of Uros on Lake Titicaca. A tour of the reed islands of Uros before continuing to Puno and continuing your tour to Chuquito. Return to your hotel. Return to Puno and your hotel.

Day 8:

Journey towards Juliaca, and an excursion to the Silluastani towers. These ancient funereal towers dating back to pre-inca times are examples of the most ancient cultures found on the altiplano. Transfer to Juliaca airport for the flight to Lima. Arrival and transfer to your hotel.

Day 9:

Transfer to the airport for the return flight to Lima. Reception and transfer to your hotel.

Day 10:

Transfer to airport for the flight to Iquitos. Transfer to the river dock where you will begin the trip to the lodge. The trip will allow you to see a marvelous panorama in which the beauty of the Amazon makes its way through the lush jungle, where picturesque villages are found all along the shores of the river. Arrival at the lodge. The lodge is built in the native-style and is surrounded by trees, plants and flowers, where birds and butterflies are abundant. Our staff will serve you with a refreshing "welcome drink" made with an exotic fruit, while your expert naturalist guide explains about the lodge facilities - including ramps for easy access- and the activities to come. Then you will be escorted to your room with private bathroom to provide you with comfort and safety. After lunch, a short trip following a jungle trail or by boat/canoe -according to the weather, to see a Yagua tribe community, one of the most ancient ethnic groups of the Amazon rainforest. Here you will have the chance to try the "pucuna" or blowgun. Return to the lodge for dinner.

Day 11:

Before breakfast, early morning dolphin spotting on the Amazon follwed by some birdwatching. Return to the lodge for breakfast. Tour to the Santa María del Ojeal farmlands where you will see the artisanal sugar cane squeeze. You will also visit a fishfarm to observe native ictiological species and walk around a typical village on the shores of the Amazon. Lunch at the lodge. Artisanal fishing tour to catch piranhas. Return to the lodge for dinner.

Day 12:

Breakfast at the lodge. Return to Iquitos and transfer to your hotel, the 5* Dorado Plaza, with special facilities.

Day 13:

Transfer to the airport for your return flight to Lima and your onward flight home.

WHAT IS INCLUDED / NOT INCLUDED
Our Price Includes: The price includes all internal flights, all private transport, entrance fees, all tours with a private guide and assistants throughout the tour. The trains are the Hiram Bingham luxury train to Machu Picchu and the first class Inca Explorer train to Puno. Accommodation is in 5* hotels with special facilities. Our price does not include: Airport taxes and the international airfare to Peru are not included.
