Rafting The Apurimac River
From Cuzco, 5 hour journey through the Andes to arrive at the Huallpachaca bridge located at 2000m. Lunch followed by preparation of all the equipment including a safety talk. Rafting in the evening for about 2 hours to your first camp,

ITINERARY
Day 1: Cuzco - Puente Hualpachaca - Apurimac River

From Cuzco, 5 hour journey through the Andes to arrive at the Huallpachaca bridge located at 2000m. Lunch followed by preparation of all the equipment including a safety talk. Rafting in the evening for about 2 hours to your first camp, which is close to some first class VI rapids. Technical instructions on class III and IV rapids. Dinner.

Day 2:  "Space Oddysey" and "Purgatory" rapids

After breakfast, a short time admiring the bromeliads and orchids before starting the rafting on a technical rapid called "Space Odyssey" and many more class IV+ rapids. At lunch time you will run the "Purgatory rapid", a class V rapid. After lunch a run of class III rapids in an amazing white water granite canyon. Camp and then dinner, sleeping on a sandy beach under the night sky.

Day 3:  "S", "Labyrinth" and "Toothache" rapids

Today your rafting starts early. You will run quite a few class IV and IV+ rapids, with chances of seeing river otters, dear, foxes, torrents ducks and many other species of bird. Lunch on a sandy beach followed by the great "Labyrinth" class V and "Tooth Ache" class V+ rapids. Before running these, several scouts will be necessary. Set up camp and then dinner.

Day 4:  Puente Cunyac - Cuzco

After breakfast a final run of class V rapids such as "Rock Gate" and "Babalua Carajo" plus some more class IV and III rapids. Lunch and then private transport back to Cuzco. Transfer to your hotel.

Our Price Includes: private service and includes private transportation to and from the Apurimac, all food on the trip, all professional rafting equipment (dry bags, and class V river gear), high quality rafting equipment and self bailing rafts, one safety kayak with each raft, all camping gear (dining tent, double person tents, mattress, etc) class V river guides (all with international training, swift water rescue and wilderness first responder courses), first aid kit and satellite phone. Our price does not include: Flights to Cuzco and accommodation in Cuzco are not included. Please enquire if you require these additional services.
