Peru to Ecuador Tour

Arrival in Lima, reception and transfer to a four star hotel.

City tour of Lima including a guided visit to the Cathedral, the Main Square and the San Francisco Catacombs.

We visit the Paracas National Reserve and Ballestas islands. Commonly referred to as the "little Galapagos", here you will see an amazing concentration of sea birds and sea lions in their natural habitat.

Today we fly over the spectacular Nazca lines, gigantic drawings and figures which are over 2000 years old. 

City tour of Arequipa, the "white city", including the 16th century convent which is built entirely of volcanic lava.

After breakfast, we drive through some wonderful scenery towards the Colca canyon, where we shall see groups of wild alpacas, vicuñas and guanacos.

An early start to visit the Colca canyon, the second deepest canyon in the world (the deepest canyon lies only a few kilometres from here). We shall also have an opportunity to see the huge condor, the largest flying bird.

Flight to Cuzco, the ancient capital of the Incas. Guided tour of Cuzco including the Inca fortress of Sacsayhuaman.

Excursion to Urubamba, the sacred valley of the Incas and to the ancient Inca market of Pisac.

Train journey to Aguas Calientes and a full day's guided tour of Machu Picchu, the most spectacular ancient city in the world.

Return to Lima for the connecting flight to Quito. Transfer to your hotel.  

After breakfast, city tour and excursion to the equatorial line monument.

A full day visit to Otavalo Saturday outdoor market, some 95 km from Quito. The market dates back to pre-inca times when jungle products from the east were traded with highland products. Traditional dress is observed throughout the market. Return to Quito.

Fabulous journey south to Latacunga, passing beautiful, mountainous landscapes. Transfer to your hotel.

Full day trip to the Cotopaxi National Park. Climb to the base camp of one of the highest, active volcanoes in the world.

Journey to Mishualli, in the Amazon region of Ecuador for a four day jungle tour. The lodge is located on the banks of the Misahuallí River, a tributary of the Napo River which forms the Amazon River in Peru. Jungle tours with a bilingual guide include canoe rides, jungle treks and an opportunity to visit the local jungle Quichua community.

Return to Quito and onward for your flight home.
