Fixed Departure Llama trek to Chavin

Prices start from US$500 per person (based on four) and includes private transportation to and from the start of the trek, all food on the trek including cook, llamas, muleteer, all camping equipment, a bilingual professional guide and entrances to the archaeological site. Accommodation in Huaraz is not included.

Llama trek Olleros to Chavin
(3 days, 2 nights)

Day 1: Huaraz - Olleros - Sacracancha
After breakfast, drive to Olleros where you will arrange all the gear on the Llamas and begin the trek. The hike today is fairly steady and you will arrive at the camp at Sacracancha, at 4050m.

Day 2: Sacracancha - Shongo
After breakfast, continue the trek going up through the narrow valley towards the only pass on the trek, the Yanashallash pass at 4700m. Here you will eventually reach the occidental side of the Cordillera Blanca. With beautiful views of the surrounding area, you will continue the route until you reach the last camp at Shongo.

Day 3: Shongo - Chavin
After a typical andean breakfast, you will descend with the llamas, passing through the peasant villages of Chichucancha, Hatu and Nunupata where you will have lunch. After, you will continue the trek with the mountain Huantsan at 6395m coming into view before reaching the archaeological site of Chavin de Huantar situated at 3050m. A guided visit of the ruins before returning to Huaraz by private transport. Along the way you will pass through the tunnel of Kawish which is the point of the continental divide. Transfer to your hotel.
