Day 1: Lima
Arrival in Lima, reception and transfer to a four star hotel.

Day 2: Lima
City tour of Lima including a guided visit to the Cathedral, the Main Square and the San Francisco Catacombs.

Day 3: Ballestas Islands
We visit the Paracas National Reserve and Ballestas islands. Commonly referred to as the "little Galapagos", here you will see an amazing concentration of sea birds and sea lions in their natural habitat.

Day 4: Nazca
Today we fly over the spectacular Nazca lines, gigantic drawings and figures which are over 2000 years old. In the afternoon we return to the Exclusive hotel in Lima by private bus. 

Day 5: Cuzco
We fly to Cuzco, the ancient capital of the Incas. Guided tour of Cuzco including the Inca fortress of Sacsayhuaman.

Day 6: Sacred Valley
Excursion to Urubamba, the sacred valley of the Incas and to the ancient Inca market of Pisac. 

Day 7: Machu Picchu
Train journey to Aguas Calientes and a full day's guided tour of Machu Picchu, the most spectacular ancient city in the world.

Day 8: Cuzco
Morning at leisure either to return to Machu Picchu or enjoy the thermal springs in the town. Return to Cuzco in the afternoon.

Day 9: Tambopata Jungle
We fly to Puerto Maldonado on the frontier of the Amazon. By boat we then head deep into the Tambopata Candamo Reserve, to a luxurious yet unobtrusive rainforest lodge. We will visit a parakeet clay lick to observe the amazing array of wildlife. 

Day 10: Tambopata Jungle
Dawn visit to a lake to look for giant otters, turtles and wading birds. A native guide will explain forest medicine and food. There will also be an option of a night walk to look for amphibians and insects or a nocturnal caiman search. 

Day 11: Purto Maldonado - Cuzco
Return to Puerto Maldonado and then fly back to Cuzco. Accommodation in Cuzco. 

Day 12: Cuzco - Puno
Transfer to the railway station for the wonderful trans-altiplano Inca express. Lunch onboard the "Orient Express" of Peru. (Alternatively, you may fly to Juliaca and then transfer to Puno). Reception and transfer to your hotel, situated on the very shore of Lake Titicaca. 

Day 13: Lake Titicaca
After breakfast, transfer to the port for a visit of the reed island of Uros on Lake Titicaca. Continue onto Taquile, inhabitants of which are more closely related to the Aymaras rather than the Quechua Incas. Basic lunch before returning in the afternoon to Puno. 

Day 14: Puno - Lima
After breakfast, transfer to Juliaca for the return flight to Lima and accommodation at a four star hotel.

Day 15: Lima
Free day in Lima before transfer to the airport for your flight home.
