Day 1: Lima
Arrival in Lima, reception and transfer to a four star hotel.

Day 2: Lima
City tour of Lima including a guided visit to the Cathedral, the Main Square and the San Francisco Catacombs.

Day 3: Cuzco
We fly to Cuzco, the ancient capital of the Incas. Guided tour of Cuzco including the Inca fortress of Sacsayhuaman.

Day 4: Sacred Valley
Excursion to Urubamba, the sacred valley of the Incas and to the ancient Inca market town of Pisac.

Day 5: Machu Picchu
Train journey to Aguas Calientes and a full day's guided tour of Machu Picchu, the most spectacular ancient city in the world.

Day 6: Puno
Departure by scheduled bus to Puno visiting en route Inca ruins and the remains of the Viracocha temple. We shall also visit the steaming volcanic pools by La Raya.

Day 7: Lake Titicaca
After breakfast, transfer to the port we visit the reed island of Uros on lake Titicaca. Overnight stay on the island of Taquile in local Aymara Indian homes.

Day 8: Lake Titicaca
Morning on Taquile island and afternoon return to Puno.

Day 9: Lima
Return to Lima Free day.

Day 10: Huaraz
Private bus to Huaraz, driving amongst some of the most spectacular mountain scenery in the world.

Day 11: Llanganuco
Day trip to the beautiful, glacial Llanganuco lake situated at 3850m. There are splendid views of the Cordillera, the highest tropical mountain range in the world.

Day 12: Pastoruri
We visit the tropical Pastoruri glacier at 5240m and the Puya Raymondi flowering plants that grow to over 12m in height.

Day 13: Trujillo
By bus we head towards the northern city of Trujillo and transfer to the hotel.

Day 14: Chan Chan
Guided visit to the remarkable ancient city of Chan Chan, the largest pre-Columbian city in South America. It was constructed entirely of mud and adobe brick. We also make a visit to the beach resort at Huanchaco.

Day 15: Chiclayo
Morning free in Trujillo. Leave for Chiclayo and transfer to hotel.

Day 16: Sipan museum
Guided visit to the Sipan pyramid in Chiclayo. We continue to Piura where we transfer to the hotel.

Day 17: Piura - Mancora beach
Visit to Catacaos where we will see gold and silver jewels skillfully crafted by the artesans before continuing onto Mancora beach.

Day 18: Mancora beach
Day of leisure to enjoy Mancora beach.

Day 19: Lima
Return to Tumbes and fly back to Lima where we transfer to a four star hotel.

Day 20: Lima
Free day in Lima and then transfer to the airport.
