Escorted Inca Trail and Lake Titicaca tour

NAZCA LINES - LAKE TITICACA - INCA TRAIL TO MACHU PICCHU
(14 days, 13 nights)
Day 1: Lima
Arrival in Lima, reception and transfer to a four star hotel.
Day 2: Lima City tour of Lima including a guided visit to the Cathedral, the Main Square and the San Francisco Catacombs. Transfer to Nazca, travelling through the dramatic coastal deserts of Peru.
Day 3: Nazca Lines
Today we fly over the spectacular Nazca lines, gigantic drawings and figures which are over 2000 years old. Return to Lima.
Day 4: Puno
Flight to Juliaca. Transfer to Puno, capital of folkloric Peru and lying on the very shores of Lake Titicaca.
Day 5: Lake Titicaca
After breakfast, transfer to the port for a visit of the reed island of Uros on Lake Titicaca. Continue onto Taquile, inhabitants of which are more closely related to the Aymaras rather than the Quechua Incas. Overnight stay on the island of Taquile in local Aymara Indian homes.
Day 6: Lake Titicaca
Morning on Taquile island and afternoon return to Puno.
Day 7: Cuzco
First class Inca Explorer train to Cuzco, across the imposing Altiplano. Arrival to the ancient capital of the Incas.
Day 8: Sacred Valley
Excursion to Urubamba, the sacred valley of the Incas and to the ancient Inca market of Pisac.
Day 9: Cuzco
Guided tour of Cuzco including the Inca fortress of Sacsayhuaman. Briefing on the Inca Trail.
Day 10: Cuzco - Chilca
Transfer to Km 88, for the start of the most famous trek in South America. You will cross over the turbulent Vilcanota River, and continue the expedition to the Llactapata archaeological site. You will also visit the archeological sites of Patallacta.
Day 11: Pacaymayu
The hardest day of the trek ascending Warmiwanusqa, or dead woman's pass at 4200m. Descend to your camp at Pacaymayu.
Day 12: Winayhuayna
A fabulous day visiting no less than three, gradually more complex archaeological sites before arriving at the marvellous Winayhuayna.
Day 13: Machu Picchu
Early start to get to the sungate or Intipunko for an unforgettable view of Machu Picchu at Sunrise. Descend to the ruins for a guided tour of the most magnificent ancient city in the world. Return to Cuzco in the afternoon.
Day 14: Lima
Morning free before returning to Lima and onward for your flight home.
